Item Description & Seller Notes
The cutter's sleigh runners have steel shoes on them. There are wooden braces that support the frame on the runners. There is a dash rail. The bottom has three boards. Inside the cutter on the right side is a whip holder. There is a fancy metal "mud scraper" on each side of the cutter. The seat has a removable, spring-filled cushion. The seat back and seat have cushions that are covered in a velour-type upholstery material that is olive green with buttons and has a diamond and piping design. The upholstery on the back matches that on the seat but has a smaller diamond pattern. There is a cushion fall on the front of the seat cushion. It is stuffed with horsehair. The body of the cutter is painted black with two parallel pin stripes and floral (daisy) designs. The interior of the dash is painted red. There is a star design in the centre of the dash about two-thirds of the way up. There is a decal on the back centre of the cutter (on the piece of veneer that is detached) of a capital M and L with a small c inside a circle, inside a square, inside a circle, which probably stands for McLaughlin (maker's mark).
